About this artwork
The artist worked with different shades of blacks and whites to create a night garden where day and night meet. "Rendez-Vous à Minuit" calls for a meeting at midnight. Midnight is an interesting time when the day ends and and shifts to a new one. Even though it's dark out, there is a new beginning. There is something very refreshing about starting a new day and having a blank canvas... The garden is mysterious yet welcoming. The door symbolizes …
the passage between night and da. The writings are messages, notes for the next days, things to forget, things to remember...

« The universe gifted me a French edge, a Californian dream and some hot boiling Afghan blood and I channel it through my art. »
Manaz Raiszadeh is an artist based in France whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions in the United States. Referring to herself as an "intuitionist abstract painter", the genesis of her artistic inspiration comes from her parent's tale and her Afghani cultural background. Raiszadeh often depicts houses and villages in her compositions, as she believes that "we can all relate to the place where we are from". She creates using acrylics, pastels, and collage on canvas or wood.
