About this artwork
Marco Affaitati was born in 1988 in Nocera Inferiore, in the province of Salerno. He specialized in painting at the ABA Rome (Academy of Fine Arts) in 2012 and specialized in support at the University of Rome "Foro Italico" in 2020. He currently lives in Rome, where he pursues his artistic career and works as a support teacher in public schools, teaching classes for children with disabilities. The artist uses the canvas as a notebook, a storytelling of gestures and emotions. A painting session generates a layer, the intersection of multiple layers produces a visual, narrative, and existential fabric that constitutes the work itself. The artist creates "pictorial ecosystems" in which beauty and poetry develop in the relationship between painting sessions and the resulting narrative. Affaitati has experimented with various painting techniques over the years and currently uses oil painting almost exclusively.
