I created this work to express the contrast between reality and the virtual world, between emotions and technology. The intense colors and surreal shapes evoke a sense of tension and wonder, capturing the gaze and the imagination. Virtual seduction as an escape from reality. Observation of the constant distortion of human reality that creates significant emotional disturbances. The real world, of tactile and palpable contacts, has lost space in the… virtual world, between simulated, controllable and illusory realities.
This work will bring a vibrant, enigmatic and reflective energy into your home, inviting you to reflect on the thin line between what we perceive and what escapes virtual control.
« The inspiration is the perception of a moment when we can do something. »
Marco Stocco, an Italian artist born in 1970, lives between Italy and Brazil. Self-taught and drawn to figurative art, he began his first paintings, often depicting enigmatic female forms and faces. Along his artistic journey, Marco moved to Brazil, where he currently resides. Initially, the pace and vibrant cultural diversity of Brazil shook him and almost disoriented him emotionally, but then, through observation, he perceived and grasped new, precious creative stimuli. Marco treasures all these stimulating inner experiences, which later lead him to express new sensations in his paintings. In 2009, he created "Orpheus," his "imaginary interior photojournalist," an enigmatic and contemplative character that represents himself, channeling these sensations into which he then materially expresses them on canvas.
