About this artwork
On this occasion the artist Marcos Carrasco depicts in an oil / acrylic on canvas, a female character who looks through a window invaded by a feeling that represents the nostalgic state of a life lost out there. Spring blooms outside and is reflected in the form of vegetables. Marcos uses for this purpose this face that intensifies the emotion of isolation during this confinement we are experiencing. The creator of this work has personified a quality…
of the mind that looks into the past, in memory, while her eyes are lost beyond the window, for this reason the posture of the model turns her head over her shoulder back . "Distant Memory" portrays a subtle state of mind in which thought stops. The protagonist of this painting trusts while making plans for the future.

« "I am a restless artist who thrives on surprise. I delve into the subconscious, unlocking the mysteries of inspiration. I don't paint the work, the work paints me." »
Marcos Carrasco is a Spanish painter who has exhibited in the United States, China, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain. His classically inspired contemporary pieces delve into the geography of the human form and how the “skin landscape” transcends the physical and evolves into creation. Reconciling abstract creations and the figurative, Carrasco begins with the first layer in acrylics then adds oils. Next, he digitizes the piece, which is printed onto various materials such as wood and aluminium.
