About this artwork
One morning on my walk, I looked up and the sky just stopped me — big, white, fluffy clouds rolling across the light. It was so beautiful I told myself, I have to paint that.
When I got back to my studio, I couldn’t stop thinking about it — those clouds, the color, the calm. I imagined a field of poppies and wildflowers, a quiet stream reflecting the sky, and mountains resting in the distance.
Poppies on a Cloudy Day is about slowing down and truly… seeing — the kind of calm beauty that stays with you. 🌸
Michael Hartstein, with a backdrop in Latin American cultures, uses oil and acrylic to echo nature's splendor on canvas.
