River is a continuation of my exploration into feminine strength and vulnerability, captured as an abstract landscape. At first glance, the shimmering flow through a vertical canyon appears like a natural phenomenon. But soon, its curves begin to echo the female form — a womb-shaped passage where nourishing warmth is born. This opening becomes a metaphor for the inner source a woman reveals only to those she deeply trusts. That trust, however, often…
leaves scars. The silvery textures on the surface resemble snow — a cooling shell formed to protect what’s sacred within.
This work reflects the tension between external calm and internal storms. Just as a river looks still from above while wild currents churn below, a woman may appear serene while carrying intense, hidden energy — her own and sometimes others’. Ukrainian-born artist Nadiya Pankova lives and works in Bavaria, Germany. Her art combines textured acrylic painting, body art and spontaneous sketching.
