In this work, I draw from outsider art and expressionism to capture the raw essence of emotion. With bold felt strokes, I construct a figure that embodies both strength and vulnerability. Each line is a breath of life, a spontaneous movement which translates an intense and deep facial expression. This piece brings a dynamic energy, a constant dialogue between the artist and the spectator.
« A Dutch client once taught me that NEP means false in Dutch. I find it meaningful because I like this absurd and uninhibited side in my work »
NEP is an experienced French painter with national and international exposure. Driven by the feeling that his work is an endless inner journey, he conveys his dreams and anxieties in each composition, usually unconsciously. Painting in a neo-expressionist style, he achieves an aesthetic that displays the influence of children's drawings and ultimately presents a chaotic yet rich visual journey.
