About this artwork
The inspiration for this piece began with a quiet moment in the forest near my home while walking with my dog, Fuffi.
Encountering a flock of sheep in the stillness of nature sparked a need to translate that sense of peace onto the canvas.
Throughout my life, painting has served as a safe haven and a way to navigate complex experiences and difficult times. This work focuses on the exact moment when light pierces through the cold.
In this piece,… I captured the serene warmth of early morning light reflecting softly on woolly sheep amidst a snowy landscape. Using rich oil textures and impressionistic strokes, I aimed to evoke a peaceful, intimate moment where beauty and hope prevail over the sharp silence of winter.
This painting brings a calming, rustic energy. Perfect for inviting a sense of quiet reflection and gentle beauty into your home.
Nir Chalupowicz is a Berlin-based painter for whom art is a vital necessity for survival. Living with PTSD and depression, Nir views painting as a lifeline, a sanctuary where he finds meaning and liberation. Born into a family of artists, his innate passion was refined through years of formal academic training in Fine Arts and Visual Communication, providing him with a mastery of classical techniques.
After 15 years as a graphic designer, Nir returned to his true purpose: pure artistic expression. His work is a contemporary dialogue with Impressionism, rooted in the Alla Prima tradition. He prioritizes spontaneous brushstrokes over rigid precision, using the tactile energy of oil paint to navigate from darkness toward light. His paintings serve as a "safe haven," capturing the resilience of the human spirit and inviting viewers to find hope and beauty in the most challenging places.
