This original melted red tuff wall sculpture is one of the latest artworks by the Bulgarian contemporary sculptor Ognyan Chitakov, deeply inspired by naturalism, brutalism and expressionism. It has authentic natural charm, mixed with the unique artistic signature and skills. Tuff is a type of rock made of volcanic ash ejected from a vent during a volcanic eruption. It hasn't reached the temperatures at which… it melts. The artist's concept has provoked this process by melting the volcanic ash rock and turning it into the actual lava state, so that the unfinished process of nature can be completed. The artist's concept follows this brutal material characteristics. This exquisite art object brings its beautiful artist's attention to high fashion detail, precision and top quality.
« Sculpture is my main way of thinking, my method of communication, my way of living... »
Ognyan Chitakov is an established Bulgarian sculptor whose works have featured in national prizes and exhibitions. He loves sculpture for all the elements it allows him to gather together: form, space, function, architecture, design, engineering, technology and - above all - art. He primarily produces stone works that carry ancient and sacred connections, and whose scale ranges from the modest to the monumental.
