About this artwork
π¬π§ "Benvenuta" is a pivotal conceptual work marking the transition from illusion to awakening. Created over the course of one year, the painting captures a radical structural collapse β both architectural and personal. While the skeletal tree and the "view within a view" dialogue with the Magrittean surrealist tradition, the work remains grounded in a stark, lived reality.
The composition centers on a sharp epiphany: the cracks in the wall serve⦠as physical manifestations of a crumbling past, while the Sicilian lemon on the sill stands as the sole unbroken element. This "sacred relic" represents a golden anchor to the artist's true self and her roots. "Benvenuta" is not a study of fracture, but a manifesto of the new consciousness that emerges when the dream finally ends.
