About this artwork
My painting "The Transition" unfolds for me a multifaceted, almost visionary visual language, in which abstract structures and figurative elements intertwine to form a complex composition. I wanted to capture a moment between dream and reality, in which figures emerge from a vibrant space of color and dissolve back into it.
The work is developed primarily through large-scale abstract paintings in which scale functions as a structural element rather than a purely formal choice. The compositions are built through layered gestures, allowing movement and spatial tension to emerge gradually across the surface. The paintings explore the relationship between control and spontaneity, focusing on rhythm, density, and physical presence. Repetition and variation play a central role in the development of each body of work, creating a coherent visual language across series. The practice is grounded in process-based painting, where each work contributes to an ongoing investigation of gesture, surface, and spatial depth within contemporary abstraction.
