About this artwork
In this triptych I explored the eternal theme of the human journey and survival. The acrylic paints used allow for vibrant, expressive layers of color that emphasize the intensity and emotionality of the scene. The movement of the water and the dynamic gestures of the figures convey energy and a sense of urgency. This work invites the viewer to reflect on the challenges and triumphs of the human spirit.
The work is developed primarily through large-scale abstract paintings in which scale functions as a structural element rather than a purely formal choice. The compositions are built through layered gestures, allowing movement and spatial tension to emerge gradually across the surface. The paintings explore the relationship between control and spontaneity, focusing on rhythm, density, and physical presence. Repetition and variation play a central role in the development of each body of work, creating a coherent visual language across series. The practice is grounded in process-based painting, where each work contributes to an ongoing investigation of gesture, surface, and spatial depth within contemporary abstraction.
