About this artwork
In creating this work, I sought to capture the vibrant and dynamic essence of nature. With oils, I blended vibrant greens and deep blues, evoking a sense of renewal and vitality. This painting is a celebration of life, a ballet of colors that invites the viewer to get lost in its energetic nuances. It will bring a touch of freshness and energy to any living space.
Alexandra Piras is a French self-taught artist of Italian origins working with mixed media and integrated LED lighting in her "Line of Love" series.
Influenced by Lucio Fontana and James Turrell, she creates “living wounds” – luminous fissures that pulse within the painting. Each crack is not destruction but revelation, a bridge between the corporeal and transcendental.
Her background in psychology informs her artistic practice, channeling research into human behavior and emotions into visual form. She explores the strongest emotions through abstract expressionism, representing space through sensations and instinctive ideas.
Recent exhibitions: Fondazione Matalon Milano, Firenze Contemporary 4 (2024).
