About this artwork
I don't know if spring has passed, but summer is already at the door. One morning, when I opened the door to the veranda, I found my eyes filled with sunlight, shaking the silken threads of the sky that were blown away by the wind. The new fragrance lingers in the loving heart.
Passers-by accidentally caught the light coming from the treetops, from the calm lake surface, suddenly surprised and delighted. Like a source of energy overflowing like a… watering stream, the sun smiles, throbbing with distant eyes. Then summer will take strong steps, the fledgling sunshine in April will be replaced by fire. The human eye will not be far away to look closer to the road ahead. I told myself, I will cherish the new rays of sunlight like the young ones of my heart, to dry my tired feelings. To savor the gentle, absent-minded days spent apart. Because it has just come, but you know it will pass again. And will long miss the old sky suddenly, painfully ask one thing: Where to go in April?
« I draw in an impressive style, with a mixture of abstraction, cubism and expression. A semi-abstract form of drawing. »
Quan Le is an artist based in Vietnam whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. He is currently living and working in Hanoi. For nearly eighteen years of oil painting, he paints what his heart can feel, not what eyes can see. Most of them are in an exciting impressionist style, with a blend of cubism, expressionism and semi-abstract contemporary. The themes of landscapes, architecture and urban areas are simplified to a certain extent, leaving most of it for memory. For him, painting is when he digs up the chaotic and fragmented memories of his poor, rugged and destitute childhood to bring the viewers to another joyful world, a neverland, a memory of the season far away.
