The place where I was born is in the monsoon tropics, Hanoi is the city where I live, the moment of season change between the end of Spring and Summer is brilliant and beautiful. Every afternoon, the bright sun dances on the trees, the sun shines brightly and then fades into the darkness. Summer is sunny but it has its own beauty. In this season, there… are many kinds of tropical fruit in the main season. On the street, carts sell fresh fruit and snacks.
On the green roads, bright sunlight covers the streets. Every time the sunset falls, the sun shines down on the noisy and bustling streets. Summer comes, brilliant phoenix flowers, sparkling and brilliant flower clusters. The exam season in June, the season of school age, is haunted by the sound of cicadas at noon.

Quan Le is an artist based in Vietnam whose paintings have been exhibited nationally. He is currently living and working in Hanoi. For nearly eighteen years of oil painting, he paints what his heart can feel, not what eyes can see. Most of them are in an exciting impressionist style, with a blend of cubism, expressionism and semi-abstract contemporary. The themes of landscapes, architecture and urban areas are simpliﬁed to a certain extent, leaving most of it for memory. For him, painting is when he digs up the chaotic and fragmented memories of his poor, rugged and destitute childhood to bring the viewers to another joyful world, a neverland, a memory of the season far away.
