About this artwork
"Red Carpet - ML" is part of the Mirror series, where total reflection at the air-water interface deconstructs reality. This latest piece (2022) is one of the first to stage elements like the carpet to play with the scenery. It is intentionally more abstract than older work. The artwork captures an ethereal red hue reflecting off shimmering water. A figure stands central, distorted by the fluid mosaic. It explores interactions of light, color, and…
fluid dynamics. The piece narrates surreal tranquility and ephemeral beauty. Viewers are invited into a contemplative space. The artwork plays with the geometric design of the red carpet and gradually reveals a person's presence.
