About this artwork
Suspended on the Bridge (2026)
Acrylic on canvas
When viewed up close, the water, koi, and bridge dissolve into gesture and layered color — a reminder that history is never fixed. It is continually reinterpreted through the human hand.
This work is part of my Revival Series, a contemporary reawakening of historic composition. Rather than reproduction, it becomes a negotiation between past and present — where memory and authorship meet on the same… surface.
Visible brushwork and tonal shifts preserve the tension between structure and spontaneity. The painting holds stillness and movement at once, allowing tradition and immediacy to coexist.
A short video study of the work reveals another dimension: rhythm, atmosphere, and emotional presence that unfold over time — qualities that fully emerge in person.
Original artwork by Ryan Beal
San Jose, California
Ryan Beal is a contemporary visual artist whose background in fine arts entrepreneurship and aviation deeply informs his work. He primarily works with acrylics and mixed media creating layered atmospheric compositions that explore presence movement and emotional depth. His intuitive process allows each piece to evolve organically guided by feeling rather than rigid structure.
Ryan’s artistic philosophy centers on mindfulness and the power of the present moment. He describes his approach as "wild reverence" the balance between calm and energy stillness and motion. Through texture light and subtle movement his work invites viewers to slow down breathe and reconnect with themselves.
As a business owner student pilot and father Ryan draws constant inspiration from lived experience shared moments with his family and the shifting perspectives found in both flight and everyday life. His art is not meant to be simply observed but felt offering a quiet space for reflection and connection.
