About this artwork
This linocut on blue tissue paper was inspired by a piece of information I read that shocked me; it happened in the Chaux forest, where more than 300 deer were killed without good reason.
In this linocut, we see deer amidst trees: I sought to convey the presence of their souls, which continue to haunt the forest. The use of tissue paper creates textures that highlight the fragility and, at the same time, the spiritual and somewhat mysterious atmosphere… that pervades this work.
The idea is also to challenge the viewer that Nature is essential to Humanity and that it must be protected at all costs.
