About this artwork
This work stems from my passion for the contrast and harmony between the geometric and the minimalist.
The idea behind origami is to learn the basic steps and folds; from there, countless figures can be created. It is done exclusively with paper. “Ori” means work, and “gami” means paper: hence, this Japanese term means 'work with paper'. This piece is reminiscent of the shapes created in the different steps of this technique.
I used acrylic to… create precise lines that illuminate the space with energy and elegance. When you place it in your home, you'll feel a contemporary vibe that invites reflection and visual balance, transforming any environment with its powerful abstract dynamism.
Sandra Mazoy is a Mexican painter based in Madrid, with a solid background in graphic design and fine arts, and a master's degree in art and philosophy. Her geometric and abstract technique explores the relationship between color and form, employing contrasts, gradations, and nuances to highlight visual harmony. Her works convey a profound awareness of nature and the everyday, inviting reflection on emotional cycles and the intimate connection between the external and internal worlds.
