About this artwork
Several female figures stand out in a fragmented composition. Their stylized bodies blend into a decor bursting with lines and bright colors. The whole evokes a collective, almost choreographic movement.
Les Demoiselles (Picasso) embody the power of the group, but also the individuality that persists within the collective. My intention is to reinvent a timeless scene, a tribute to plural femininity and the strength of the invisible bonds that unite… beings.
Serge Dumez, a painter and draftsman, began his artistic career with pencil drawing and pastel. His technique fuses the elegance of drawing and the vivacity of pastel, manifesting a predilection for deconstructed representations through cubism. By exploring human relationships in his works, Dumez conveys deep feelings and complex ideas.
