About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the dialogue between the artist and his creation, a moment of reflection mixed with the action of painting. The bright colors and expressive forms in the impressionist style exalt the creative impulse. The artist, immersed in his world, becomes a bridge between the real and the imaginary. It is a tribute to Fernand Léger, a supporter of freedom of artistic expression, a vibrant celebration of color and movement to… energize any living space.
Serge Dumez, a painter and draftsman, began his artistic career with pencil drawing and pastel. His technique fuses the elegance of drawing and the vivacity of pastel, manifesting a predilection for deconstructed representations through cubism. By exploring human relationships in his works, Dumez conveys deep feelings and complex ideas.
