About this artwork

Bandera I and II are a celebration of nature in its purest and most joyful form—like a carnival bursting with life, colour, and movement. Through these two paintings, I wanted to convey a dynamic energy that feels like a rush of fresh air: unpolluted, unrestricted, and ever-flowing.

I used loose forms and expressive brushwork to evoke a continuous sense of motion, as if the flags themselves were fluttering in a living landscape. The vivid, intense… colours reflect the richness of the natural environment, while the motif of the flag is not meant to suggest allegiance to any particular nation or political ideology. Instead, it represents something deeper: the idea that nature belongs to no one in particular—it is a shared inheritance that connects and unites us all.

At a time when natural resources are under increasing threat, these works also invite reflection on freedom and respect for the environment. Nature offer

Simon Boyd is a London-born, Argentina-based artist who primarily works in oil on canvas.

"As a semi-abstract oil painter, my work is rooted in the surreal beauty of Argentina’s diverse natural landscapes. Drawing inspiration from the mountains, skies, and shifting horizons around me, I create dreamlike environments that blur the line between memory and imagination.

Through the use of pure pigments and alchemical techniques, I explore color and texture in ways that evoke joy, wonder, and a deep sense of harmony. Each piece becomes a meditation on light, form, and energy—an invitation to reconnect with the natural world through a lens of curiosity and reverence.

My goal is to transform familiar landscapes into poetic visions, where abstraction opens space for emotion and intuition to guide the viewer's experience."
