About this artwork
In my artwork I used acrylic, collage, watercolor and chalk to capture the essence of the abstract. I wanted to explore the complexity of human connections, representing the fragility and robustness of our bonds. The enveloping textures and colors stimulate deep emotional reflection, inviting the viewer to imagine their own stories intersected in these visual plots. This work brings a thoughtful and vibrant energy to any space, stimulating contemplation… and internal dialogue.
Simonetta Matera, an artist with an eclectic academic background, expresses her passion through painting and collage. With different techniques such as watercolor, pencils, acrylics and a deep connection with randomness and nature, his compositions become three-dimensional bas-reliefs, deliberately undefined and abstract. His works, rich in colors and shapes, are labyrinths of enigmatic textures that depict changing balances, provoking a constructive restlessness and revealing unexplored dimensions of the observer.
