About this artwork
The painting is inspired by my encounters with Gypsies in my youth. They were setting up the camps in the spring and summer into the fall on the outskirts of my town. There were coal mines in my town and byproducts of coal mining were deposited on the hillsides. All of it was covered by the vegetation and vast meadows covered with flowers in the spring and summer were the views to remember. Gypsy women were telling the fortune for a small amount…
of money therefore the destiny was in the Gypsy’s cards. The Gypsy women were dressed in the colorful clouts and wore a lot of jewelry. Their horses roamed the meadows with intensity of a thunder.
