About this artwork
Titled "The Journey". This was inspired by kayaking with my daughter as she's about to head off to college for the first time. Metaphors abound.
This is professional grade acrylic paint on a hollow-core wood panel, 32" high by 80" wide. The edges are painted a solid color with no frame. It is hung with a traditional picture wire. Please look at the images carefully. This is painted loosely with quick brushstrokes in a painterly manner.
The back… of the painting - with splashes of paint - shows evidence of it being in the studio as other paintings are worked on.

Stephen Remick is an experienced American painter whose work has been featured in many solo and group shows nationally as well as in American publications. Growing up in Vermont and now living in Massachusetts, Remick is inspired by the landscape around him and mainly paints nature scenes and backyards covered in snow. His work captures a delicate beauty of sunlight and shadows in the deep woods of New England.
