About this artwork
Every year the Elvers, originating from the Sargasso Sea near Bermuda, migrate across Europe to the mystic lochs of Scotland. Embracing new cultures along the way, they follow what might be the same path as the fabled sea creature that made it's home in Loch Ness.
In this burst of cerulean and emerald I've merged acrylic and oil to capture life's vibrant unpredictability. I've layered texture and colour, allowing abstract forms to emerge, reflecting… my passion for the raw beauty found within chaos. This piece is a lively symphony meant to invigorate any space, infusing it with the spirit of expressionism and the freedom of abstraction. It's more than a painting; it's a pulse of energy for your home.
« As an artist I'm constantly exploring different styles and emotions My art is a fusion of contemporary and classical inspired by the old Masters but defined by the 21st century. »
British artist Steve Fraser has always been fascinated by mythology and the imagery accompanying folk law and traditional stories. Inspired by the the symbolism of the Renaissance and Baroque movements his artworks explore the myths and legends of his own Scottish heritage. His pieces reference Scottish culture and it's place in contemporary society, tartan abstracts, Celtic symbolism and legendary creatures are evoked on his dark and luminous canvases. A key thread throughout all of Steve's works is the notion of redemption, that the human spirit can rise to be the best it can be and the uniqueness of the individual. Dramatic and evocative pieces which transport the viewer into a lush other worldly setting.
