About this artwork
The abstract wall object consists of twelve square individual modules.
Acrylic paint and spray paint were applied to a textile painting surface, supplemented by foam and an MDF backing board. This combination lends the work both visual depth and a tangible physical presence. The modular structure reveals breaks, transitions, and repetitions, alluding to the interplay of proximity and distance, of the individual and the collective. Bold reds and… blues dominate the picture plane and engage in a dynamic dialogue with lighter, cloudy transitions and dark accents. A striking yellow line—the cross—lays across these colored fields. It acts as a unifying gesture, transcending the fragmentation of the surface and bringing the individual parts together into a shared rhythm.
