About this artwork
Caput mortuum (Latin for "dead head") is an alchemical symbol for completion and rebirth. It represents what remains after the great inner fire: the residue of old forms that were destroyed to make room for the new.
Caput mortuum symbolizes the end of a cycle, the experience of disillusionment, and the clearing of inner space for true growth. In alchemy, it was also associated with earth, ash, and the sediment of truth—that which remains when all… illusions have been burned away.
I am a self-taught artist from Germany with an inner drive to express and create through painting. My artistic journey began in 2018 when I discovered different painting techniques and experimented with different media. Over time, my work became an intimate practice—painting and other art forms serve as a personal meditation that helps me connect deeply with my inner world.
Through my art, I process my emotions, thoughts, and life experiences. Each work is a self-discovery, a way to process and understand the complexity of my feelings and experiences. I work primarily with oil, acrylic, and mixed media, utilizing the rich textures and depth these materials offer. Each brushstroke is an invitation to reveal the stories within and create a visual language that speaks to the essence of being.
