About this artwork

This was inspired by the many ditches and drains which cross the Fens , some would say I live in a backwater! I do find the water endlessly fascinating and much of my work is an interpretation of it.

Terry Beard is a painter with a background in textile design and illustration, working primarily with screenprinting, acrylics, and collage on canvas. She employs intuitive, purpose-driven techniques, layering transparent colours and self-made paper to evoke landscapes, water, and woodlands, especially those of the Huntingdonshire Fens. Her evocative works are designed to convey a sense of place and emotion, inviting deeply personal interpretations from each viewer.
