About this artwork
This work, entitled "The Walker," is part of a quest that is both intimate and universal: that of movement, perseverance, and the inner journey. On this canvas, warm pigments—reds, oranges, almost incandescent—create a vibrant space, permeated by a muted, almost telluric energy. At the center, a deep blue vertical form seems to forge a path, like a silhouette advancing, carried by an invisible force.
This luminous yet fragile blue contrasts sharply… with the warm material surrounding it. It represents consciousness, the mind in motion, the being moving amidst life's turbulence. Around it, the traces, the friction, the imprints of gesture evoke both the obstacles and the impulses necessary for progress. Thierry Ménéchal, known by his artist name THIME, is a painter originally from the Dordogne region and based in Bordeaux. He works primarily with pigments, oil paints, and textured materials, drawing on a professional background outside the art world. He favors abstraction, using a palette knife for a spontaneous gesture, playing with transparency, movement, and relief with great expressiveness. His art is nourished by his travels, nature, and his emotions, inviting the viewer to deeply experience the inner essence of each work, like a sensory journey where sensitivity takes precedence over representation.
