About this artwork
An establishment that automatically transports us to the last century.
It is the most emblematic shop window of the city and, therefore, one of the most photographed. El Colmado Moriscot is a small modernist-style store created in 1860 and taken over by the family of the current owners more than fifty years ago. Although the first (or second) that comes to mind when we think of the mythical grocery store are liquors, we can find a thousand and… one curiosities for all tastes and pockets: From wines, British infusions, spices, local products, beers artisans, sausages from Empordà... El Colmado is also one of the most beautiful shops in the city.
His work shows a mixture of realistic and impressionist styles, both awakening a great interest in the current art market. Realism attracts collectors who appreciate precise technique and detailed representation, as seen in his works of urban landscapes and still lifes. The impressionistic elements, evident in his depictions of people in environments atmospheric, they are very popular with audiences interested in emotional and expressive techniques.
