About this artwork

This illustration was inspired by a photo taken during a bonfire on the beach. In the background stretches the dark Baltic Sea with its stony beach. The fire shines in warm yellow and orange tones in the late evening twilight. A man adds wood, his face lit by the flames. The lighting conditions were captured in an impressionistic way. My paint application technique with the palette knife is impasto and expressively dynamic. The shadows give the image… a three-dimensional and three-dimensional dimension.
