About this artwork
I painted this picture in the studio, based on reference photos of myself as a figure from behind. Strong, dark tree trunks to the right and left of the picture reveal a view of the Baltic Sea. The bright summer green of the leaves shines. I am standing in a dark blue dress with my back to the dense forest and looking out at the blue-green sea with the wide horizon. I captured the soft rays of daylight that fall through the trees onto the beach in…
an impressionistic manner. The picture was painted with pasty, expressive brushstrokes. The picture support consists of a hand-stretched, multi-primed canvas, fitted with a steel wire. The edges are painted and the picture can be hung up straight away. The signature is on the front.
