About this artwork
In creating this piece, I poured my fascination with human emotions and cultural revelations into every stroke. Employing acrylics, pastels, and organic materials, I sought to blend traditional expressionism with a raw, visceral touch. The bold colors and dynamic textures reflect the inner turmoil and ecstasy of the human spirit, inviting viewers to delve into their own depths. This artwork, meant to provoke and soothe, will bring a vibrant and contemplative… energy to any space.
Vivien Tapsoba, a self-taught contemporary painter from Burkina Faso, channels both formal training and raw instinct. He employs a mixed media technique, wavering between the figurative world and expressionism, and masterfully reconstructs figures and forms by erasing and re-drawing. His canvases, often left untitled, are poignant encapsulations of daily life and current events, narrating living stories that bristle with emotion and ambiguity.
