About this artwork
In this work, I have merged strong geometric forms and gentle landscapes to express the fragile coexistence between nature and human construction. The contrasts of vibrant colors evoke a dynamic energy, while the mountains in the background serve as a reminder of permanence in the face of transformation. I hope this painting will bring an atmosphere of reflection and vitality to your space.
Yoann Toublant is a painter and illustrator with a background in humanities and film studies, before turning to painting. He uses an intuitive and spontaneous technique, sketching directly onto the canvas to establish a free structure, then juxtaposing vibrant colors in a controlled chaos that patiently harmonizes. His practice oscillates between figuration and abstraction, exploring themes of clowning, struggle, and dreamlike landscapes. He conveys a bittersweet universe, imbued with ambiguity and questioning, where emotion arises from the tension between balance and imbalance.
