About this artwork
This oil painting evokes the slow emergence of consciousness at the heart of cosmic matter. A human silhouette, both primitive and universal, seems to detach itself from an incandescent energy field, as if the spirit were taking shape in the primordial fire of the universe.
The figure is neither fully embodied nor fully dissolved: it stands at the border between matter and thought, between chaos and direction. The warm colors—reds, ochres, stellar… incandescence—convey a dynamic of transformation, a tension toward an invisible center, a point of convergence where the human, the living, and the cosmos seem destined to unite.
This work, inspired by the IC1396 nebula, explores the idea of inner evolution: that of matter which, over time, becomes self-aware. A pictorial meditation on humanity's place in the universe, on the drive that compels us to understand, to create, and to connect with something greater than ourselves.

Coming from a scientific background and with experience in the space industry, alongside an affinity for painting, Yves' artistic work is part of this quest, that of making the elusive visible.
