About this artwork
My computer is an interpretation of my state of mind, of what is playing in my head at the moment.
For this work, we had to work quickly, very quickly, without shaking and letting the data have free rein.
The canvas is raw and unprimed.
The action is very spontaneous but responds to applications in layers.
The spray paint effects depending on the areas and in connection with the other materials give these interesting depths, between density of… the line and blur.
We are really working on a work close to urban graffiti. These intertwined characters stand out in different shapes and sizes.
You have to look carefully to see all the details.
You will be surprised because as always my work offers multiple readings that we discover day by day.
« A Dutch client once taught me that NEP means false in Dutch. I find it meaningful because I like this absurd and uninhibited side in my work »
NEP is an experienced French painter with national and international exposure. Driven by the feeling that his work is an endless inner journey, he conveys his dreams and anxieties in each composition, usually unconsciously. Painting in a neo-expressionist style, he achieves an aesthetic that displays the influence of children's drawings and ultimately presents a chaotic yet rich visual journey.
