Pressure Gradient - curated by Natalie Slater

A curation by Natalie Slater, Curator at Singulart - This is abstraction built on velocity. Spray and airbrush replace the brush. Color hits the surface fast. It spreads, stalls, sharpens. Control sits just beneath the fade. Across the works, gradients hold tension. Hard lines interrupt atmosphere. Saturation is pushed to the edge, then pulled back. Nothing lingers too long. There’s a clear lineage to graffiti — speed, compression, surface awareness — but nothing here illustrates the wall. The marks stay abstract. They refuse image. What drives the work is calibration. Distance from the surface. Density of pigment. When to release. When to stop. Synthetic color. Engineered softness. Pressure made visible.
