Too Much Body - curated by Natalie Slater

A curation by Natalie Slater, Curator at Singulart - The body exceeds itself here. It gathers in weight, in curve, in repetition. Torsos thicken. Limbs fold inward or press outward. Forms double, merge, or lose their edges entirely. What begins as a figure becomes something closer to mass. There are no complete bodies, and no need for them. Heads drop out. Identity follows. What remains is volume — pushed, softened, exaggerated. Across painting and sculpture, the body is treated as material. It stretches, compresses, accumulates. At times it feels unstable, as if it might spill beyond its own outline. This is not the body as image. It’s the body as excess.
