Robert Tietz

Robert Tietz doesn't paint to please – he paints as if he were intervening in the material itself. His paintings have a physical presence: thickly applied layers of paint, rough, damaged surfaces that look as if they have been torn open and then hastily healed.

His creative process reveals two extremes: there are moments of almost timeless beauty.
Silence – clear lines and forms, glossy surfaces covered in washed-out colors. These flow into one another as if they had no beginning and no end.
It contains emotional, breakthrough moments: raw, direct, charged and full of depth.
Here, Robert Tietz works impulsively, almost excessively, with bright, intense colors and deliberate breaks.
It is precisely this tension between control and rebellion, between permanence and fleeting moment, that lends his works their unique power. His paintings are not merely visible – they are palpable, loud, uncompromising, and brimming with energy.
