Opposites such as line and surface, density and openness intertwine to create vibrant pictorial spaces. The approach is both physical and attentive. It is about allowing processes to unfold and giving them form.
Robert Tietz doesn't work – he intervenes. Every gesture is a statement, an infringement, an attempt at control that threatens to collapse at the same moment.
Destruction is not an end, but a passage. Torn surfaces carry within them time, interventions, condensations – like scars that not only mark wounds, but also their transformation.
