Robert Tietz

Robert Tietz, a graduate of the HfbK, Hamburg School of Art, is a professional painter working in Cologne, Germany. The theme of his artistic work is the coexistence of eternity and moment, chronos and kairos. Chronos, the continuous, structured sense of time with its unceasing movement in space and time, is symbolically made visible in his paintings through straight lines and shapes, as well as washed-out, muted colors with flowing transitions. Dynamic structures, broken boundaries and expressive colors, on the other hand, make kairos visible, qualitatively meaningful moments with emotional depth. The wonderful marriage of these two antipodes in Robert Tietz's art makes his paintings special, expressive and powerful.
