Pan-African Connection Bookstore, Art Gallery and Resource Center is the story of Bandele Tyehimba, who was determined to shed light on African culture in Dallas, and make an impact on the local community. Tyehimba opened his boutique/bookstore in 1989, in which he sold books, but also African art and fashion accessories. After Tyehimba's unfortunate death, his wife Akwete Tyehimba took over the business, and continued to share her late husband's vision of bringing "people closer to Africa." Pan-African Connection remains a beacon, and provides customers with a vast array of goods - children's fiction, non fiction and African history books, clothing items, sculptures, soaps, handmade jewelry - always with outstanding customer service. A must-see if you ever find yourself in Dallas.
