« My artwork is very important to me. I use it as a tool to help dissect my identity as an eighth generation Scots-Irish Appalachian. It is not just an image making practice, but a way for me to explore my own concepts of a highly misrepresented people and place. »
Aaron Blum is a born and bred Appalachian from West Virginia. As a proud bearer of that title, he helps us discover, through the medium of photography, insights into its identity, heritage, culture and typology, that have been prone to distortion.
