Alexander Ospina

“My work is born from the encounter between matter, fire, and the will to transform.”

Sculptor in welded metal.

Alexander Ospina is a Colombian sculptor born in 1973 in Medellín, Colombia. He specializes in welded metal sculpture, working primarily with iron and other metals. His artistic practice is based on an empirical and self-taught process, through which he has developed a solid technical mastery and a distinctive sculptural language.

His work moves between the figurative and the abstract, seeking a balance between detail, realism, and expressive power. Using industrial materials, Ospina creates sculptures laden with symbolism, in which the silence and coldness of the metal reveal an intense emotional and symbolic charge.

Ospina's sculptures are characterized by their structural solidity, formal dynamism, and powerful presence.
