Alice Babolin places the body at the centre of a multidisciplinary practice spanning painting, sculpture, photography, video, installation and performance. Her work explores fragility, transformation, feminine identity and non-conforming bodies, challenging conventional ideas of normality and value.
Her first published painting series, Ovarian Paintings, originates from Ovarian Breathing, a body-based practice first explored through performance and later developed into a distinctive pictorial language at the Royal College of Art in London. Breath becomes gesture, rhythm, colour and matter, giving visible form to intimate emotional states. Each painting records a unique bodily moment and is therefore unrepeatable.
Babolin came to art without traditional academic training, following a career in journalism and international management. In 2025, she was selected by the Royal College of Art, where her performative research evolved into a deeply personal painting practice.
