Amaya Eglin

Amaya Sandra Eglin is a painter, draftswoman, photographer, and printmaker, born into a family of artists in Paris. She has always drawn and painted since childhood and attended design schools in Basel and Zurich. Her artistic and craft-oriented talent led her to train as a restorer in Basel, Bern, and Valais, Switzerland, where she learned many painting techniques.
Her works emerge from a combination of poetic realism, dreamy imagery, and art-historical references, as well as a play on historical and cultural history. She uses a unique oil-casein emulsion, gouache, and classical painting techniques.
In her atmospheric compositions, humans, animals, and nature blend harmoniously, evoking a profound joy of discovery, devotion, and inner harmony in the viewer. Her paintings are dated and signed on the side or back to avoid disturbing the image.
