Antonio Presutti

I was born in Telese Terme in 1957 and developed my artistic skills as a child in my brother Stefano's studio, exploring life drawing and the figurative tradition, including through my encounter with the painter Valente Assenza. I made my debut in 1973 and in 2021 I was among the 100 finalists for the Sgarbi Prize.
My painting is a symbolic and introspective figuration, rooted in classical tradition and oriented towards a philosophical inquiry into existence. Through figure, light, and matter, I explore intentionality, myth, archetype, silence, and expectation, investigating the relationship between will and action, thought and reality.
In "The Will and the Act," a theme my brother also addresses from a different perspective, I reflect precisely on the transition from intention to its realization. My painting thus seeks to transform visible reality into a space for introspection and questioning.
