« I paint from memory, not real life or photos because that way I can retain and paint the essence without superfluous intrusions. »
Canadian Painter April Bending's works can be seen throughout the world, including in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands. Using multiple layers of acrylic paint, Bending creates textured surfaces and abstract images. Bending paints from memory, seeking to distill her subjects to their true essence. Her works are varied in subject, but are all deeply expressive in their multiple layers of warm colors, abstracted patterns, and emotionally resonant themes.
