Aristide Gattavecchia

Aristide Gattavecchia, painter and sculptor, was an Italian artist of the 20th century. He dedicated his entire life (1907-1994) to his passions: art and history. He trained by traveling around Europe and visiting the places where art was at its highest levels: museums, galleries and places of worship. He expressed his art with various techniques, such as oil, tempera and clay. He first used traditional techniques and then revolutionized his style through experimentation with new materials and techniques. His works, the result of intense reflections on violence, marginalization and loneliness, evoke dismay and suffering, expressing an acute sense of the pain of living.
